One of my favorite things is talking about what Christmas means with my son, he's a bit of a chatterbox and loves knowledge so, as much information as you have to give, he wants to hear, then share with the world! This was something I knew and wanted to prepare myself for. Christmas for us means the celebration of Jesus' birth, but I really didn't have an explanation for all of the other things that come along with Christmas, Thank God for the "What's in the Bible" dvd on Christmas!! We watched it multiple times over just to soak in all of these new facts! It's definitely renewed our love for Christmas!!
So you can imagine my son, now filled with this new knowledge, loves to talk about it. This idea popped into his head, when we were talking about why we were blessing others up until Christmas (RACKed). It was something that the dvd didn't really go over. He asked, "When we're done doing nice things for other people, what are we going to do for Jesus on his birthday?" I said, that was a good question, what do you think we should do? He replied "We should get Jesus birthday gifts!" I asked What kind? His answer "We should give him candy and fish toys!" Fish toys! I said, Why fish toys? He confidently said "The candy is for him to eat and the fish toys are for my fish that died, that is up there with Jesus now!" OH! Well clearly that makes perfect sense!! haha. Kids are amazing and so pure hearted!
Well like I said earlier curriculum has been getting easier and easier for me to make myself, to fit what we are going over and so I made a cute little wintery penguin unit. I'm sure I will add to it, but here is what I have so far
This week, I didn't take alot of school pictures, but I did happen to get pictures of our advent activities! We're doing "The Truth in the Tinsel", it been super fun to do as a family, not to mention the ornaments look adorable on the tree!!
Day 1 Candle (Isaiah 9:2-7)
Day 2 Kingdom (Isaiah 9:2-7)
Day 3 Zechariah (Luke 1:5-25)
That's all for now, thanks for stopping by!
